President Murmu Champions Bhima Bhoi's Legacy: A Call to Unity and Equality

President Murmu celebrates Bhima Bhoi's timeless teachings, urging unity and equality. A tribute to Odisha's revered saint.

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, spoke at a gathering of the Mahima Cult at the Mini Stadium in Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Odisha. In her speech, she honored the memory of Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi, a great poet and saint, whose teachings have always inspired her.

President Murmu praised Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi for creating beautiful poetry even though he didn't go to school. She admired his special way of thinking that allowed him to write timeless poems that people still sing today.

She also mentioned how Bhima Bhoi's poems talk about everyone being equal and how these ideas are still important today. President Murmu encouraged young people to learn from Bhima Bhoi's ideas and follow them.

President Murmu talked about the Mahima Cult, which was started by Mahima Gosein. She explained that this group welcomes people from all backgrounds, without caring about their caste. Bhima Bhoi worked hard to spread this message of equality through his speeches, songs, and poems.

President Murmu believes that Bhima Bhoi's work is timeless and meant for the benefit of all humanity. She thinks that Bhima Bhoi's stories and writings should be translated into different languages so that everyone in India and the world can learn from them.

The President also spoke about the importance of respecting places where saints lived and taught. She believes that these places are sacred and have always inspired people to do good things. Earlier in the day, President Murmu visited the birthplace of Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi in Rairakhol. She also went to Divya Joyoti and Gyan Peeth at Kandhara, as well as the Temple and Ashram of Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi at Kankanapada. These visits showed her deep respect for the saint and his teachings.
